An assessment of the status quo at St Lucy's Hospital was undertaken from November 2013 to January 2014, which included an assessment report on
the physical condition of the infrastructure, current usage of the facilities, staffing and overview of patient throughput and occupancies. In July 2014 B4 Architects were appointed to prepare the Clinical Brief and Masterplan proposal for St Lucy's Hospital. The End User and Department of Health were engaged to determine a scope of service to be provided at St Lucy's Hospital from which a draft Clinical Brief was determined and presented, followed by an investigation into possible options for the redevelopment of the hospital. These took into consideration the practical requirements of maintaining a functional facilty while constructing the new hospital and catering for the nurse training undertaken by the Lilitha Facility. A recommendation from these options was deliberated and developed into a proposed Masterplan and Concept Layouts, based on the requirements set out in the IUSS Health Facility Guides. Together with CDC, we have consulted with the End User and the suggestions that they have put forward have been deliberated in consultation
with the Department of Health and the End User and the agreed outcomes incorporated into the proposal.
