Uitnehage, Eastern Cape
Over 135 years old, the Uitenhage Railway Museum is one of very few historic railway station buildings in the country that remains in near original condition. Sadly a lack of funds and other priorities has resulted in the building and exhibits deteriorating over the past decade to the point where intervention is quickly needed to prevent permanent damage. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, B4 Architects is contributing our time and knowledge of railways and architecture to help the Museum Board halt further deterioration and obtain sponsorship and donations, both of goods and expertise, to preserve the long term future of the museum.
